Software In Real Life #1: Digging Yourself Deeper

This is a new series on the Code Anthem blog called “Software In Real Life”.  It depicts ideas that are commonplace in the software development industry happening in real life.  The concept is created by me, although inspiration is certainly taken from all sorts of places.  This particular comic was inspired by a tweet from @dozba.  The (awesome) artwork is by ILuisFel.

Actually it’s my wife who deserves most of the credit – she’s the one who asked me to move the hole.

  3. Hahaha, excellent!

  4. 4 feet to the left is OK. Just need more time and the work costs more :)

@Ted Dziuba – I’d take an annoying manager over a “helpful” spouse anyday! (and I can say that because she doesn’t read this blog! hehe)
The comic brings so much laughter, yet so much pain at the same time….. So true, so very true!
I just got done with a situation like this, except they wanted a “hole” 4 ft X 5 ft, and I kept telling them it would be better 3 ft x 8 ft. They kept complaining that 4×5 was the only way it would work, until I ignored them and showed them the 3×8 option when I finished it. hehe. They love the way I did it.
Seriously, don’t tell a developer how to do something, just what needs to be done, and we’ll do it right, and likely better.

  6. Excellent One .
    Good creative post .
